Katie Williams (she/her, b. 1995) is an artist, designer, and cat mom living in Chicago. Her practice interrogates memory and archive as a process through which intimate selfhood and the nuances of grief might be better understood.
Her studio practice embraces and celebrates the intersection of design, weaving, and other fiber-based materiality, in conjunction with a robust Risography practice. Her process equally emphasizes and intertwines rigorous research and methodical documentation. She has shown her fiber and Risography works in Chicago and Brooklyn, New York. Williams is passionate about arts education, working with textiles, conscious design, and community resource sharing... and, of course, her cat, Bodi.
